Casa Barrada was finished in July 2007; it features 2260 ft2 living space and is thus comfortably suited for 10 people. As there is also an area for living and sleeping on the first floor, the house is also ideal for two families who want to spend their holidays together.
Casa Barrada is built solely by materials used in organic architecture and is hence ideal for allergic persons. Next to other aspects a main emphasis was laid on a good isolation, optimal use of the natural light conditions for the rooms and building techniques that are typical for the area – all of which creates a pleasant "climate" in the rooms.
The area on the ground floor is built in such a way that also handicapped persons can use it comfortably.
Casa Barrada is beautifully located in the middle of a quiet olive grove surrounded by a magnificent tropical garden.
There is also a large playing ground and a small wading pool for children.
The living room is very spacious and homely and has a traditional Portuguese "Canau and Pau" ceiling (made of eucalyptus and bamboo); it features a dining area with a table for 6-10 people and a living area, which also contains a sofa, that can be converted into a bed. An inserted fireplace creates a cozy atmosphere and helps keeping you warm in winter time.
Games and books wait for our young guests and our guests young at heart as well as also a stereo system with a CD-player and an LCD-TV connected to satellite.

The kitchen is spacious and perfectly equipped with an oven, an electric cooker in the middle, a dishwasher, a coffee machine, a refrigerator and freezer, an immersion heater, an orange juice extractor and many things more. From the south window you look to the ocean and you can access both roofed terraces in the south and west directly from here.

Casa Barrada has 4 bed rooms and a gallery which can also be used as a bedroom for two persons.
Two bed rooms are on the ground floor – one has a king-size double bed and the other one has two individual beds (which by request can be arranged as a double bed).
On the first floor you will find two more bedrooms, each with a double bed and an single bed. Furthermore the first floor has a cozy gallery room with a TV and a couch, that can also be used as a double bed.
If needed we can give you further beds, also children beds – and as all rooms are very commodious there is enough space for additional beds.
Numerous built-in cupboards provide ample storage space.

Casa Barrada has three bathrooms. One of them – on the ground floor – is suited for handicapped persons, including a suitable shower and bathtub. The second bathroom on the ground floor has lavatory, a bidet and a shower.
The bathroom at the first floor has a lavatory, a bidet and a shower.

To the south and west Casa Barrada has roofed terraces with homely dinettes and a barbecue with an external kitchen.
From the roof terrace you enjoy a wonderful view to the ocean and the Sierra, deck-chairs invite you to relax.
The house lies in a huge lush garden with many palm trees, tropical plants and for the children waits a meadow as a playing ground and a wading pool.

There is a washing machine in the house and we provide our guests with beddings and towels.
The house has an electric central heating system and a solar heating system
